Celeste Oram
Celeste Oram is a composer, flautist, actor and director. In 2012 she completed a BMus(Hons)BA at the University of Auckland.
She began composing at high school, and it was her success in winning the 2007 APO Trusts Secondary Schools Composition Competition and hearing her work performed by the APO that encouraged her to continue composition studies at a tertiary level. In May 2011 her chamber opera The Electrical Eclipse, with libretto by Claire Bracegirdle, was premiered at the University of Auckland. In 2012 she was a finalist in the NZSO Todd Young Composer Awards.
