Joshua Taylor
I have just completed my second year in my Bachelor of Music in Composition at the University of Auckland with Eve de Castro-Robinson. I have a background as a multi-instrumentalist and I have perfomed with several semi-pro ensembles as a cellist and double bassist.
My music has been performed by the NZ Double Reed Society, the NZ Trio and by pianist Pascal Harris, workshopped by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and at the Nelson Composer's Workshop. My orchestral work willy wonka dekor was recorded by the Westlake Symphony Orchestra as part of the 2019 SOUNZ Community Project and will soon be published on SOUNZ.
My current musical interests include microtonality, gamelan, period instruments, percussion, live electronics and integrating other artistic mediums into my music.
