Robert Drage

Robert Drage Robert Drage has completed his final year as Cello Performance student at the University of Auckland, where he studied with Martin Rummel. He is the principal cellist of the Auckland Youth Orchestra and a member of the National Youth Orchestra. He has a special interest in performing new music, from orchestral works to chamber music and solo works.

His ensemble ETACETI won the Auckland Chamber Music Society prize in 2012 playing George Crumb's Vox Balaenae. This ensemble also reached the final of the 2012 Pettman/ROSL Arts International Chamber Music Scholarship. He has received performance prizes at the Douglas Lilburn Composition Prize in both 2012 and 2013.
